Digital Art Specifications

These are guidelines for supplying LTi Printing with digital art files. These specifications cover file submission, supported applications, image requirements, fonts, symbologies, trapping and dielines.

File Submission:

  • FTP server (Please contact your CSR to obtain secured login information.)
  • CD/DVD submission
  • E-mail (2MB should be the maximum file size for this type of submission.)

All incoming files should be accompanied by a detailed PDF file which indicates size(s) and color call outs for the entire job. When files are uploaded to LTi Printing's FTP server, please send the detailed PDF directly to the CSR managing your account.

Supported Applications: Please supply all native working files when possible.

  • Adobe CS4 (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
  • Quark XPress 7.0
  • Macromedia Freehand MX

  • TIFF, EPS or PSD (Please do not use .jpg or RGB images)
  • DCS2 & 1 Bit Tiff Files*
  • Minimum resolution of 300 dpi
  • CMYK
  • Minimum rule size ½ pt.

*With DCS2 or 1 Bit Tiff files being non-editable, pre-production meetings will be necessary to discuss file construction, trapping requirements and color separation methods. These meetings will be coordinated through the CSR managing the account.

  • True Type or Postscript (screen & printer)
  • Text converted to paths (non-editable)
  • Minimum size for reverse type is 4 pt/bold

UPCs and Barcodes:
LTI Printing manufactures all codes that we reproduce within our production facility. Please provide sample code or information necessary to manufacture code.

  • LTi Printing will set all trapping limits.
  • Please make sure that no elements within the supplied files are set to overprint.

Dielines:

  • If using an existing die or having LTi design a new die for a new project, please obtain the die file from LTi to provide for your designer.
  • If a new carton or shape has already been designed, please supple the dieline on a separate layer within the artwork files.
